This Friday, we will be raising money for a local charity as part of our RTD Christmas jumper day. The charity we have selected is St. Rocco’s Hospice and we are delighted to be fundraising for such a great cause.
St. Rocco’s Hospice is based in Warrington and caters for those suffering with life-limiting illnesses. They are passionate about the wellbeing of all patients and families and ensure that they do everything in their power to care for them. St. Rocco’s say “patients, carers and families are at the heart of everything we do.”.
As a registered charity, they provide completely free care and are therefore heavily reliant on the local community to volunteer and donate. This is where St. Rocco’s gains the majority of its funding. They say: “Only around a third of our funding is provided by the NHS; the rest comes directly from the wonderful community”.
Everything they do at St. Rocco’s Hospice is to try and enhance the quality of life those involved experience. They are always relying on volunteers and looking for people to make donations. It is said that “over two thirds of our income is raised locally in our community every single year!”.
We are really looking forward to doing our bit to help raise money for this amazing charity on Friday. Furthermore, we get to do so whilst getting into the festive spirit with our Christmas jumpers!
